Premium Versatility in Four New Compact Cameras

Canon’s latest digital compact cameras now available in Malaysia!

KUALA LUMPUR, 3 March 2017– The long awaited Canon G9X Mark II, Canon PowerShot SX430 IS, Canon IXUS 190 and Canon IXUS 185 cameras have finally made its way to be available to Malaysian customers! Designed for hobbyist and casual lifestyle users in mind, the new Canon cameras are lightweight and ultra-packed with a myriad of features that produce high quality images.

“Being the leader and specialist in imaging solutions, Canon understands that photography can mean many things to different people – from capturing moments, creating memories, to it being an expression of art. We believe that the new Canon cameras will not only complement our customers’ love for photography, but also encourage more people to pursue their interest in photography and develop a deeper appreciation for the art of photography,” said Jeffrey Kung, Head of Consumer Imaging & Information Division of Canon Marketing (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.

DIGIC 7 image processor upgrade in the premium Canon PowerShot G9X Mark II
The DIGIC 7 image processor delivers high precision tracking performance and allows for touch detection of image subjects. The camera will automatically detect and track the face of a designated person, as well as animals and even objects that are not highly discernible in a low colour-saturation background. In addition, the DIGIC 7 image processor also makes continuous shooting of 8.1 fps possible, making it effortless for users to track and capture fast moving subjects on the Canon PowerShot G9X Mark II and pick the ideal image from the continuous shots taken. The 3x large aperture zoom lens (28-84mm* ) assures high image clarity in varied shooting situations, even in low-light conditions.

The DIGIC 7 image processor also underpins the enhancement of image quality on the new PowerShot G9X Mark II, even at high ISO speeds. At ISO 1600, edge noise is suppressed to the equivalence at ISO 800, thus maintaining excellent resolution and higher level of image clarity. The newly developed dual sensing image stabilisation (IS) feature provides 3.5 stops of image stabilisation when shooting still images, reducing camera shake more effectively even when shooting in low light or night conditions. The dual sensing IS works by using two types of information processing: A gyro sensor that detects physical vibration and a new algorithm that utilises information from the image sensor to compensate for image blur.

Connectivity and smartphone app control
Bluetooth low energy technology is also newly introduced to the PowerShot G Series line in the Canon PowerShot G9X Mark II. The technology empowers seamless and automatic Wi-Fi connection between cameras to mobile devices, while ensuring low power consumption, enabling both power-efficiency and longer hours of connectivity. With Bluetooth low energy technology, users may also use their mobile devices as a remote control for shooting or playback of images, enabling users to have greater control and options

The Canon PowerShot G9X Mark II also offers the versatility of charging up the battery via the commonly used micro-USB cable, eliminating the need to carry a separate camera battery charger when travelling.

Packing a Punch with the All New Canon PowerShot SX430 IS, Canon IXUS 190 & Canon IXUS 185
With a nifty design and lightweight body, the cameras are powered by the DIGIC 4+ image processor. Despite compact body size, users will be delighted by 20-megapixel CCD image sensor, assuring image clarity and brightness. With Canon’s ZoomPlus technology, users can effectively double the zoom range without a noticeable loss in image quality.

The Canon PowerShot SX430 IS can zoom up to a powerful 45x optical zoom, and ZoomPlus up to 90x; the Canon IXUS 190 and Canon IXUS 185 have 10x and 8x zoom lenses respectively, and is expandable to 20x and 16x with ZoomPlus. The Canon PowerShot SX430 IS and Canon IXUS 190 are also equipped with IS technology to maintain stability when shooting at long zooms, for sharper images.

Simple and intuitive interface
With a date stamp function that records the date and time on the actual image, it becomes much easier for users to keep track of their memories. A simple glance at the photo will reveal when it was taken, so users can save the hassle of checking the EXIF file data on computer or device. Date stamped photos will also make organization in photo albums much easier.

For those new to photography, the Canon IXUS 190 and Canon IXUS 185 has an Easy Auto mode, which disables all non-essential buttons, thus making it easy for users to simply point and shoot.

Connect, transfer and upload
For the utmost convenience to share on the go, the Canon PowerShot SX430 IS and Canon IXUS 190 are equipped with Wi-Fi and NFC capabilities. Users can connect the camera to their smartphones, printers and computers, allowing for the swift transfer of images and videos or even upload directly to social networks like Facebook and Flickr. With NFC technology, users can tap the camera on another NFC-enabled device, instantly pairing the two for easy transfer of images.

With the exception of the Canon Digital IXUS 190 (which is only available for purchase on the Canon Official Store on Lazada Online), the other new compact cameras are now available at all Canon Image Square and authorized dealers nationwide.
